Family in VA

Hi!

Today I picked Alex up from school and we drove to Alexandria, VA to see my aunt and uncle!  They were in town for his son-in-law's Army promotion.  We met them at their hotel and walked to Theismann's for lunch!  Ginger and I got the French Onion Soup, Marty got Shrimp and Lobster Bisque, and Alex got the Chicken Quesadilla.  My soup was very good and they gave us yummy bread, too.

Then we walked along this cute street with tons and tons of little shops, restaurants, coffee shops, etc.  We looked at pretty beads in the Potomac Bead Company store.  Then we went to this really cool fair trade store called Ten Thousand Villages.  They had jewelry, toys, art, instruments, clothes, coffee, everything!  Each item has a tag saying the country it was made in and the artisan groups that make everything have already been paid for everything that's in the store.  They've been in this location for 20 years this year.  We didn't get anything but it was so fun to look at everything!

It was so cold and windy so after we walked back to their hotel we hung out in their room for a little bit before driving back.  We had so much fun!  I'm so glad we got to see them while they were here!

Thanks for reading!
