Tucson and San Diego

Hello!

I'm finally writing about our trip to Tucson and San Diego last month!  Alex's dad turned 60 this summer and the whole fam went to San Diego for a few days to celebrate!  We had so much fun!!

There were eight of us total and we rode in a big van (that Alex's dad drove) to San Diego on the 4th of July!  The trip is only about six hours.

We stayed in a super cute Airbnb house!

It was in such a cute neighborhood with other fun houses, lots of places to walk, and it was so quiet.

After we figured out which rooms everyone was staying in, we went to dinner at Cafe Coyote.

It was really cool and the whole place was sort of indoor/outdoor.  The food was good!

We went to Seaport Village to walk around and then watch fireworks after that!  They do a few shows all at the same time all around that area and the fireworks were great!

We stayed in San Diego for four nights and almost every morning, at least a few of us would walk to a cute market called Grant's.

The first afternoon we went to the aquarium.  It was so nice outside and the aquarium is so cool!

We ate dinner at a place called Piacere Mio that was in walking-distance of the house.  It was some of the best pasta I've ever had!  We got dessert at a nearby ice cream shop called Daily Scoop on Juniper.  It was really cute.

The next day we went to Coronado Island to go to the beach!

It was really nice out but too cool to get into the water!

We had fun relaxing on the beach and walking around.

For lunch we went to this cool place called Tavern.

We went to dinner at a place near Seaport Village called Puesto and we all got really interesting and delish tacos!

We brought lots of games and cards so every night when we got home we played games!

The next day we went to the zoo, which was right by the house.  There were so many animals out and about!

We got to see several baby animals in different exhibits and they were so cute!!

We stopped at a cute cookie store called The Cravory on the way home.  Yum!

For dinner we walked from the house to a restaurant called Buona Forchetta and we had some really yummy Italian food! We sat on their nice patio area and the weather was perfect.

When we got back to Tucson, we got to spend a few days there before flying back to Baltimore.  We spent lots of time with the sweet pupsters, relaxed, went on walks at night, and had more fun!

We got to see my aunt Chris one afternoon, which was so fun!

We had such a blast spending time with Alex's family!  It was such a fun, relaxing trip!

Wedding Weekend in Tucson!

Hello!

We've gone on a few trips this summer so I'm going to post about them in order :)

At the beginning of June, Alex and I got to fly home to Tucson for a friend's wedding!  It was a quick trip and we had a lot of fun!

The wedding was the evening of the day we arrived and it was at Hacienda del Sol, which is so pretty!

When we first got there we made a leaf on their cute tree picture with our thumb (our joint thumb) and signed our names.

The ceremony was in a really pretty garden area and it was so nice!  It was perfectly them, with great music, etc.  Then there was iced tea, lemonade, water, etc. and finger food for everyone in a courtyard area while the wedding party took pics.

The happy couple, Betsy and Myles!

It was perfect weather!  A few of Alex's friends from high school were there and we had so much fun hanging out with them!

Dinner was inside and it was delish.  Our place cards and favors were little jars of prickly pear jam!  So fun.

They had dancing in the room right by the dining room and out on the patio they had a Frost gelato cart for dessert!  YUM.

They also had a slideshow playing on the patio of all of the pictures that the wedding photographer had taken that day!  The pics were great and it was fun to see all of them right there!

We slept well that night (we had been awake for about 24 hours!).

The next few days we had a lot of fun with Alex's fam!

Grace, Abby, and I got some cute matching rompers!

Thanks, Carol :)

We ate at some delish Tucson restaurants, which is always fun.  We got to eat lunch with my aunt Chris, too!

We also got to see Alex's aunt Laurie at dinner one night!

We got to snuggle with (and take pictures of, and play with) sweet Fiona!!

We love her so much!

The bag I used on our trip is new!  It was my anniversary present from Alex and I love it!

The brand is Treason Toting Co. which is a local Baltimore company.  The first time I heard about them was in a video at one of the first CreativeMornings I went to and I've been following them on Instagram since then!  Their bags are so cool!  Alex was super sneaky and totally surprised me!!

The bag is perfect for a weekend trip (conveniently called the Weekender) and it's so well made.  The fabric is really durable, the straps are nice, and the zipper is super heavy duty.  Also it's soo pretty!  Thanks, Alex!

We had such a great time on our quick trip to Tucson!  We just got back from a second trip there so I will write about that soon!

Home for the Holidays

Hi!

Alex and I had such a great two-week vacation visiting our families!  We went to Tucson for one week and then to St. Louis, MO, and Decatur and Lincoln, IL, for another week.  We got to spend so much time with our families and do so many fun things!  I'll write more detailed posts about some of the things we did, but here's an overview!  :)

In Tucson, we went to a lot of our favorite local restaurants and stores!  Here's a list of some of them:

Robert's - This is our favorite place to get breakfast food
Rosa's - This is our favorite Mexican food restaurant!  But there are so many good ones.
Blue Willow - This is a yummy place to have any meal!  They also have a very cute gift shop in the front.
The Hungry Fox - This was my first time there and it was very good!  They also have a fun gift shop up front.
Eegee's - This is a chain that is just in Arizona (mostly Tucson).  They have sandwiches, salads, pretzels, and yummy, fruity, icy drinks.
Bookman's - This is a Buy Sell Trade book, music, etc store.  They have multiple locations and you can bring in your old stuff and if they want it, they give you store credit!  We've gone here since I was little.
Antigone Books - This is a super cool independent bookstore on 4th Avenue.  They have tons of good books, of course, and also lots of other cool, sometimes locally-made, things for sale.
Caruso's - This is a yummy Italian restaurant, also on 4th Avenue.
La Encantada - This is a high-end outdoor shopping mall in the foothills of Tucson.
SAS Fabrics - I love this fabric store!  I've gone here since I was little and my mom and I used to go.  It's brighter and probably cleaner now, but it's kind of like a Harry Potter-looking shop with all kinds of stuff.  I like to get fold over elastic there to make my hair ties!
Arizona Inn - This is the historic hotel where I worked for four years until we moved to Baltimore.  I ran in one day to say hi to everybody!  That was fun :)

We played lots of games, went to an engagement party, a Christmas Eve brunch, and a dinner party, made some cute things and some yummy things, had a great Christmas, got our nails done, and had so much fun spending time with everybody!  We got to see my aunt Chris and have lunch with her, too!  We stayed in Tucson until the day after Christmas and then flew to St. Louis!

We had another Christmas the night we got to St. Louis with my parents, my brother, and his girlfriend!  We spend a few nights in Decatur, IL at my grandparents' house and got to see all of my aunts, uncles, and several cousins there!  We did Secret Santa for the first time and that was really fun :)

We went to Del's Popcorn Shop, our favorite, which opened in the 1930s!  My aunt taught me to crochet and then I taught my cousins, we played card games with my grandpa, my grandma French braided my hair, my mom did my cousin Brooklyn's hair, and we ate lots of yummy meals!  We also drove to Lincoln, IL to see my aunt Brenda's Victorian house decorated for Christmas.  So pretty!

Once we were back in St. Louis, we went to some fun antique shops, went shopping at the Galleria mall and other stores near my parents' condo, watched fun movies, ate yummy food, relaxed, went to see my aunt and uncle's new house, and we went to see Night at the Museum!  We had such a great time!

What a wonderful two weeks!  I'm so happy we were able to visit our families for so long!  Alex still has about two weeks until he goes back to school :)  It's getting so cold here!  Tonight the temps are getting very low and it's supposed to snow tomorrow.

Today was day three of my 10 Day Pop Physique Challenge!  I hope tomorrow isn't too cold to walk there!
