Learning to Crochet!

Hello!

While we were visiting my grandparents in Decatur, my aunt Brenda, who is a home economics teacher in Lincoln, taught me how to crochet!  I was telling her all about the cute crocheted things that my sister-in-law Grace had given everyone for Christmas and she asked if I wanted to learn!  Of course I did!

Here are the things Grace made me for Christmas!

An adorable ear warmer/head band and some cute wash rags!  She also made Alex a really cool beanie and for my birthday, she made me a super soft infinity scarf!  She's a pro!

Here I am wearing it :)

I got one skein of yarn at JoAnn's when I went with my aunt and she taught me how to make an infinity scarf (I made mine long enough to just go around my neck once with a little extra room).  Brenda got yarn too so she could make her own!  She sews, quilts, knits, crochets, embroiders, and everything else having to do with fabric!  We used to sew a lot together when we would visit Decatur but we haven't made anything in a long time, so this was so much fun!

Here I am with Brenda, wearing my finished product!

Since I had the hang of it, I got more yarn in St. Louis before we flew home so I could make something on the airplane!

Here's the scarf I made :)

It's the same size as the first scarf I made.

Once we were back in Baltimore, I got more yarn at Michael's.  Since then I've made an ear warmer similar to the one Grace made for me (but without the cute button) and a scarf to match (this one is smaller and good for covering your face in the cold!).

I also found a much smaller crochet hook that my aunt Chris bought for me a few years ago and some gray yarn, so I made a little wash rag!

I am so glad I know how to crochet now!  It's really fun, not hard at all, and it's the perfect thing for me to do while we're watching TV so I don't fall asleep :)  I want to learn how to do different stitches and how to make other things!

Thanks for reading!
